Update was needed

So after realizing that this hasn't been updated in a while, why not add some more content. I think I am going to start writing a little more in addition to the videos. I enjoy the women's basketball here at Ball State and here is a sidebar I wrote following Saturday's game.

Parade in 2 Minutes

I tried something out this past Saturday for Homecoming. I bought a flexible tripod and mounted a video cam to the top of WLBC's van. I sped up the process to do a video time lapse of the parade. Here is the result:

Dante Love Injury

Haven't updated the blog in a while, but that's partially due to learning the process of video. Been doing that a lot since the beginning of August and I think I am liking it. Here's a video from the Dante Love injury from Indiana. Check out more videos at: http://www.youtube.com/ballstatedailynews

Lucas Oil Stadium

Back in July I got tickets for the Lucas Oil Stadium grand opening tour for today. The pictures do no justice on how fine of a facility it is. Everything is just unbelievable. I am looking forward to watching a game or possibly a concert at the stadium. Enjoy!

Manny Being Manny

I went to the ball game against the Cardinals and captured Manny being Manny. Glad to see he's having fun with LA.

Farewell Tiger Stadium

I shot these photos on my way to the Mid-American Conference Media Day in Detroit when something caught my eye. I saw a lot of people standing outside taking photos and I come up on the old Tiger Stadium. They are in the process of demolishing the outfield walls and efforts are underway to raise funds and save the infield for a history museum of some sort. Enjoy.

New Haven Fire

So I woke up this morning, hearing that there's a fire two minutes from my house and of course I grab my camera and head out in the rain to get some shots. It was a controlled fire of an old house that sits on the highway. Enjoy!

Indiana Storms

After leaving work last night and spending an extra hour or so riding out another storm, I go to my car to find this. It looks like a dome is covering campus. Enjoy!

Indy 500

Covering the Indy 500 was a great experience. Never have been a fan of racing, but I am quickly becoming addicted. Here are some shots from The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Final Shots From Bump Day

What a crazy ending to Bump Day. Buddy Lazier, who came straight from the garage, qualified and placed 32nd within the last half hour. Trying to get your shot and avoiding the AP is nearly impossible, but still came out with decent images. Enjoy!

Buddy Lazier gives thumbs up after learning that he will be in the field of 33.

Assignment Outtakes

I was out today on an assignment of two guys canoeing the White River in Yorktown for the summer edition of the DN and while I was leaving I noticed a Cardinal in woods. I stuck around for a few minutes while it kept flying all around. I managed to get a couple decent shots of it. Enjoy.

IN-Decision '08

A much needed update after a long absence. I have been traveling around Central and Northeast Indiana covering the Democratic candidates. It's been interesting hearing the viewpoints. Who's going to win? Not sure, which is why every vote is important. Enjoy.

Monte Carlo Fire

In case anyone didn't know, there was a fire this morning at the Monte Carlo. Saw it break on the news and then ventured out...but by the time I got there, the fire department put it out. Here's the aftermath of the destruction.

Bellagio Hotel

Finally got a chance to update since going to Las Vegas. Last night I had some time to kill so I wandered around and caught the Bellagio Hotel after sunset. There's a time about 10 minutes after sunset where the sky is a perfect blue. The second photo just comes a couple minutes later. Enjoy.
